I have developed a number of mobile apps during my Social Work career to help Social Workers and service users and I am always looking for new and innovative ways to engage and support those that we work with.

Mobile Apps

Child Protect App

In 2012 I undertook some work for Surrey Council with Child Protection in the Third Sector.  As part of this I developed an app for people working in voluntary organisations to help them with safeguarding and child protection issues.

UASC App

Whilst working in Bournemouth in 2018 I set up a UASC Service.  As part of this I developed an App for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, to help them to get acquainted with and setlle in Bournemouth.  The app provided them with all of the information that they needed when living in Bournemouth.

Country Profiles App

In 2019 I wrote a book for people who are working with Unaccomapnied Asylum Seeking Children.  It contains comprehensive profiles of 52 Countries and is over 700 pages long.  .  I then developed this app so that workers could have all of this information at their fingertips when out in the field.

The app also includes guidance on Age Assessments, Immigration legislation and much more.  The app has recently been updated to reflect the latest 2022 legislation and guidance.

Care Leavers App

I developed this app to ensure that Care leavers have all of the information that they need when they go out into the world.

The app covers the following areas:

  • Preparing to leave care
  • Directory of local support services
  • Categories of Care Leavers & Entitlements
  • The Local Offer
  • Your Pathway Plan
  • Health
  • Education, Training & Work
  • Money
  • Housing
  • Access to your records

It’s a one stop shop for care leavers.  Contact me to discuss having a version for your Local Authority

The Children in Care App

This app is the first of it’s kind and is designed for children in Care.  It explains everything a child coming into care, or a child already in care, needs to know, in a child friendly way.  It can alleviate their fears and anxieties and support and guide them through their care journey.

The App covers the following areas in detail:

Coming into Care

Care Dictionary

Support Services

Your Rights

Your Care Plan

Health

Education & Training

Reviews

CP Case Conferences

Accessing your Records

It has everything a child in care needs to know, at their fingertips.  If you want to provide the next level of support to your children and young people in care, in a format that they understand, then give me a call to chat about a bespoke version for your Local Authority.

The Fostering Channel

Although this is not an app, I am currently working on an exciting national project for fostering.  I am developing a streaming TV channel, called The Fostering Channel (it will be available on Roku and Amazon Firestick).

The aim of the Fostering Channel is to raise the profile of fostering, and to enable Local Authorities to have their own sub-channel to promote their local fostering services, educate and train their foster carers and to engage with carers in a more meaningful way.
